At Women Enabled International—the leading global organization at the intersection of gender and disability—we know that feminist disabled leaders, who represent 1 in 5 women worldwide, are vital to building and sustaining a future rooted in democratic values and gender justice.

Through a gender and disability lens that no other trend report offers, this document shows just how critical this leadership is. It presents a focused—though not exhaustive—snapshot of six key anti-rights and anti-democratic trends impacting rights at the intersection of gender and disability and centers the voices of the feminist disabled leaders actively resisting and re‑imagining a future where women, girls, and gender‑diverse people—with and without disabilities—have full control over their lives and bodies and are equal partners in shaping solutions.
