Susie Rodgers

Board Member at Women Enabled International

Susannah (Susie) Rodgers is a global technical adviser on disability inclusion with extensive experience advising public and private sector organisations around the world. She has worked on international development programmes, policies and strategies at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office since 2020, focusing on disability in the context of climate change, gender equality, health and economic empowerment. Susie is also an MBE awarded former Paralympic swimmer. She won 30 international medals during her career, 17 of them gold, including gold in the 50m butterfly and 3 bronze medals at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and three bronze medals at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. She is a qualified non-executive director with over a decade of experience on boards including formerly at Spirit of 2012, a legacy charity from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. She has a postgraduate diploma in Non-Executive Director Leadership awarded through the Financial Times. She also serves on the Global Disability Advisory Panel of the UK’s British Council. Susie was awarded a First Class Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages from Newcastle University in 2005 and was selected for the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders’ programme in 2018, completing executive education programmes at global institutions including Harvard Kennedy Business School, Stanford University and Cambridge Judge Business School.  As a non-executive director, an advisor and consultant on disability, equality, sport and high-level performance, Susie advocates for greater equity and equality. She is a sought after panellist and public speaker globally. She is passionate about swimming and swims regularly even after her retirement from competitive sport. She has a strong passion for ocean conservation and is currently an Ocean Ambassador for the UK’s Marine Conservation Society.
