Satya Tara Nelms

Development Officer at Women Enabled International

Satya Tara Nelms is the Development Officer at Women Enabled International. Satya has a diverse skill set and a passion for advancing women’s rights and amplifying underrepresented voices. She comes to WEI from Children’s Literacy Initiative, a provider of early literacy instruction and advocacy around educational equity where she was Foundation Relations & Grants Manager.

Satya has extensive professional writing and editing experience in local and national publications and has consulted on and led community building, DEI, and wellness initiatives. She is also an avid reader and trained labor doula.

Satya holds a bachelor’s degree in African American Studies and Women’s Studies from Wesleyan University and a master’s in creative writing from Full Sail University.
