People & Culture Officer at Women Enabled International
Mikayla (she/her) joined Women Enabled International (WEI) in 2021 and brings a decade of diverse experience in healthcare and nonprofit governance to her role as People and Culture Officer. Previously serving as the Executive Assistant at WEI, Mikayla has transitioned to champion strategic human resources initiatives, aligning organizational culture with WEI’s core values and global compliance standards. Her career journey is marked by impactful roles in healthcare administration and nonprofit leadership, where she passionately advocated for women’s and gender-diverse peoples’ health and rights, access to care, and community engagement.
In her current role, Mikayla is dedicated to integrating diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and accessibility (DEIJA) principles across all facets of the organization. She collaborates closely with the Director of People and Culture and Operations, driving the evolution of comprehensive HR processes that foster inclusivity and professional development. She also partners with the Operations Officer to enhance overall organizational efficiency and effectiveness at WEI, ensuring a supportive environment where staff thrive and contribute effectively.
Outside of work, Mikayla stays active in her community, serving on nonprofit boards and supporting initiatives for healthcare access and mental health advocacy. Her personal interests include travel, hiking, and literature, reflecting her holistic approach to life and work.
