  • Developing and leading trainings for local advocates to raise issues affecting women and girls with disabilities with UN human rights mechanisms;
  • Drafting submissions to UN human rights mechanisms; and
  • Representing the organization at meetings and conferences.

We would also consider assisting candidates in developing a fellowship proposal for externally funded project-based fellowships.

  • Eligible candidates will have a degree in law and knowledge of international human rights law.

  • Experience working on, and commitment to, women’s rights and/or disability rights is preferred.

  • Candidates should be capable of complex legal research and analysis and should possess high quality writing, editing, and advocacy skills.

  • Some international travel may be required.

This is an externally funded fellowship, so compensation is set by the terms of the sponsor and not WEI.

The duration of externally funded fellowships are set by the terms of the sponsor. WEI prefers applications from fellows who can commit to at least one year, but may consider a shorter duration.

Women Enabled International (WEI) works at the intersection of women's rights and disability rights to advance the rights of women and girls with disabilities around the world. Through advocacy and education, WEI increases international attention to—and strengthens international human rights standards on—issues such as violence against women, sexual and reproductive health and rights, access to justice, education, legal capacity, and humanitarian emergencies. Working in collaboration with women with disabilities rights organizations and women's rights organizations worldwide, WEI fosters cooperation across movements to improve understanding and develop cross-cutting advocacy strategies to realize the rights of all women and girls.
