WEI International Legal Intern, Summer 2020

Women Enabled International (WEI) is is now accepting applications for legal interns to support
our international legal work in Summer 2020. WEI’s summer internship program will provide
interns an opportunity to work on a variety of legal advocacy projects to advance the rights of
women and girls with disabilities worldwide.

 

Projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting research on international, regional, and national human rights law and policy;
  • Drafting submissions to UN human rights mechanisms; and
  • Supporting the development of key advocacy documents and publications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Eligible candidates must have completed at least one year of law school by June 2020.
  • Experience working on, and commitment to, women’s rights and/or disability rights is preferred, as is demonstrated knowledge of international and/or human rights law.
  • Candidates should be capable of complex legal research and analysis and should possess high quality writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English is required.

 

Internship Overview:

The summer internship program will run from June through August 2020. Interns will be based in New York City. Interns are encouraged to seek outside funding sources for their internship, as this is an unpaid internship.
